Podcasting cheaply 2016 part 1

IMG_1448

It’s 2016 and let’s talk of podcasting on the cheap. It’s easy to do, it’s fun and another way to make some money in your spare time.

It’s not as easy as setting up a youtube account, or bandcamp page, but a lot of the same concepts do come into play. I want to help you get started because podcasting is a fun activity and a great way to spread the word about a project, hobby, or business.

Before you even think about getting equipment or getting sponsors you need to think about a few things, what will your core concept be?
Why do you want to podcast?
How will you share it once you start?
Will it be an extension of your business or hobby?

Take a moment and go to Itunes and check out their categories. Is there anything in there that you like or think you could talk about?
Do you know anyone who also shares this interest?
Do you know anyone who is tech savvy to answer any computer or audio questions?
Do you know anyone who is marketing savvy?

Think about this stuff, write it down and get an outline on what you want to accomplish.
Take some time and listen to podcasts that are out of your “wheelhouse”, and expose yourself to some different podcasting styles. Listen to how other people relay information in an audio format.
